for Admission |
Criteria for Admittance into the Athletic
Training Major
Only
sophomores or above will be fully
admitted into the Athletic Training
Education Program (ATEP). Freshmen will
have to meet the following criteria
before they can be reviewed for
admittance. Transfers, either from
another institution or another
department on campus will be evaluated
on an individual basis.
1.
All freshmen must have a GPA of
2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale after their
first academic year. Transfers must also
have a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
2.
Freshmen must have a minimum of
24 credit hours completed of freshman
requirements. Freshmen prospects will
need to refer to the suggested Four Year
Schedule for Athletic Training.
Transfers will be evaluated on an
individual basis.
3.
Completion of
60 Observation Hours (Completed
during the Freshman year)
Each
prospective student will submit an
application (obtainable from the
Clinical Education Coordinator or
Program Director) and undergo a formal
interview with a committee before being
reviewed.
